It is that time of year when customers come in looking for a simple project that they can make for all of their friends. Well, this year Cut Loose Press has you covered! This new pattern by Merry May is made with one tea towel and 1″ side webbing for the handles.
The tea towel is given added body by using fusible Shape-Flex. Since the tea towels edges are all finished, the bag is fast, easy and professional looking. Add the side pocket (or not) and make the wrapping a part of the gift!
These tea towels by Dunroven come in a multitude of colors and designs. I chose just a few in Christmas colors:
The 1-inch webbing used for the handles comes in a variety of colors as well. I chose a couple that would look great as contrasting colors on the towels above.
Be sure to have plenty of Shape-Flex on hand because they will definitely want to make more than one!
This would be a great, affordable make it/take it for your Christmas open house. Or demo it next year. It is a great bag year round or can give them a start for next year!
Designed by Quilters Inspiration! There is a little bit of Irish in all of us so why not celebrate it? The leaves of these tumbling shamrocks are cut from a variety of 2-1/2in strips. The variety of prints adds depth and texture to the design by creating another design element. Adjust the size accordingly to make it fit your table or gift it to your favorite bloke as a throw! Either way, it will be treasured! The individual leaves are trimmed to 4 1/2″ and the entire shamrock are trimmed to 8 1/2″ so the Creative Grids® CGR4 and/or CGR8 are recommended.
Sunflowers Ala Lulu is a great introduction to a more artistic approach to quilting. This raw-edge appliqué project features layered squares to create the petals of the sunflowers. Add some leaves and bias tape stems and you can have this done in an afternoon! The Creative Grids® CGR9 is recommended.
Welcome the newest Cut Loose Press™ designer, Beth Weigt! She teaches classes and wanted a simple pattern with larger pieces that would showcase the Creative Grids® Kitty Corner Tool (CGRDH5). Happy Kitty’s Table Topper features twelve-inch blocks, and since there are only four of them, it truly can be finished in an afternoon.
The Kitty Cornered Blocks are combined with a center square and rectangles like a nine-patch. Then they are separated by sashings and a corner-post which create a secondary center design. Choose three coordinating fabrics and begin!
Cut Loose Press™ patterns are always in stock so place your orders now!
Krista is one of my favorite people! If you ever get a chance to take a class from her, DO. Her latest pattern, Summer Succulents is a beginner friendly pattern that is available in two sizes.
In her words: Pick your favorite soothing palette of natural colors, or go for a cheerful bright bundle to make this fun and simple pattern. Summer Succulents is entirely strip pieced, then set into sashing, making it easy enough for the confident beginner or for a quick weekend retreat project. No fussy piecing techniques or Y seams involved. If you’re just getting into quilting, this would be a good next step on your new quilting journey. This pattern includes step-by-step instructions with beautiful illustrations through every stage to make your rotary cutting, piecing, and assembly a breeze.
This pattern showcases her Creative Grids® 60 Degree Diamond Ruler.
This pattern is due to arrive at the beginning of next month, just in time for summer!
Deb Heatherly has not only designed some of my favorite Creative Grids® Tools, she also uses them to design stunning quilts! Cat’egorical is the perfect quilt to showcase the Creative Grids Kitty Cornered Tool. Don’t you love the way the block design is repeated on the border.
Quasar and Quasar Plus utilize those 45-degree angles that are printed on all of the Creative Grids® rectangles. Both are jelly roll friendly. Quasar finishes to 50″ square. Quasar Plus includes two different sizes – a table topper and a large throw.
The Creative Grids® CGR612 is suggested for construction and the CGR15 is great for squaring up the sections of the quilt.
The patterns are due to arrive early next month so place your orders now!
When we have those January blahs and the sun never seems to shine, this would be the perfect project to bring a little “happy” into our lives!
I was lucky enough to audit the first class for this quilt and the ladies loved it. Every fruit teaches a new technique so it is the perfect class.
In Krista’s words: Fresh Fruit is a fun sampler quilt with each block teaching a new way to use the Large Creative Grids®, 60-degree diamond ruler. There are six different fruit blocks: lemons, limes, oranges, strawberries, watermelons, and grapes. This quilt is so fun to put together and a great way to build skills in piecing each block’s combination of shapes. The Fresh Fruit pattern comes with two layouts: a lap quilt size that includes the striped background blocks and a wall-hanging size made up of the fruit blocks only. This pattern is fully-illustrated, with step-by-step directions, for easy assembly with no Y seams! Lap: 53″ x 56″, Wall Hanging 36″ X 35 1/2″.
This pattern is due to arrive any day and features the Creative Grids® 60 Degree Diamond Ruler.
Deb Heatherly is releasing three new patterns that will all be in stock by the middle of May. Captivate is a stunning quilt that combines blocks created with her Creative Grids Kitty Cornered Tool and the 10″ Log Cabin Trim tool Duo. This stunning quilt measures 53-1/2 inches square.
Creative Grids 10 Inch Log Cabin Trim Tool Duo:
Creative Grids Kitty Cornered Tool:
Imagine includes yardage requirements for 3 sizes: 63 x 63 inches, 63ix 80 inches and 90 inch square. It uses her Creative Grids Kitty Cornered Tool and the Strippy Stars Tool.
Creative Grids Strippy Star Tool:
Prosperity features the Kitty Cornered Tool and includes instructions for three different sizes.
All you need is ONE jelly roll along with background and accent fabric to create this stunning oversized throw. The pattern Jelly Roll Log Cabins #CLPCAM022 from Cut Loose Press™ includes cutting instructions for the logs so every inch of fabric is utilized. Since the log cabin blocks finish to 12 inches, you only need to make 16 blocks so you can finish the entire project in an afternoon.
All you need is TWO jelly rolls along with background and accent fabric to create this stunning full/queen-sized quilt. The pattern Jelly Roll Blues #CLPCAM023 from Cut Loose Press™ includes cutting instructions for the logs to best utilize the fabric. The center square is pieced from 2-1/2 inch strips as well to add to the courthouse steps effect. Since the log cabin blocks finish to 12 inches, you only need to make 42 blocks so you can finish the entire project in a weekend.
Make either quilt with the Creative Grids® Log Cabin Trim Tool Two Quilt Ruler #CGRJAW2 designed by Jean Ann Wright.
Peppermint Twist (#CLPSCH002) is a darling table runner by Sheila Christensen that features the Creative Grids® Half Sixty ruler. Since you cut a multitude of shapes to create the candies, it is a great choice for a class!
Hearts on the Half Square (#CLPPHA015) was designed by yours truly so I am a little prejudice! It is made with 80 layer cakes. My family calls this the wedding quilt because I have made so many of them for wedding gifts. The hearts are the perfect size for signatures and messages for the honored couple. At 75 x 91 inches, it is the perfect size for cuddling. It also works great as a memory quilt for any event: graduations, anniversaries, babies…
Since this quilt is made with half-square triangles created from ten-inch squares, I used the 15-inch Creative Grids® Seam Guide Tool (#CGRSMN15) to mark the sewing lines. It is specifically designed to span the diagonal of a 10″ square!
Putting the top together is a breeze when all of the half-square triangles are trimmed to the exact same size!
Charmed Hearts (#CLPPHA014) is made with 80 charm squares pieced into offset four-patches. Or, if you make Hearts on the Half-Square – and carefully trim the excess fabric out behind the hearts, you get a twofer!
Since this is made with five inch squares, the 2 1/2″ width of the I love my Quilting Friends ruler (#CGRQF26 )works great to cut the four-patches.
If you like to do handwork, the hearts for both quilts can be appliqued. The Gypsy Quilter Freezer Paper (#TGQFP811H) is recommended. It comes in 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheets so you can trace one page of hearts and run it through a home printer to save tracing time.
But, if you prefer machine embroidery, use Print-N-Fuse (#PNF25). It is also available in 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheets so the hearts can be copied on a home printer. Follow the package instructions to fuse the stabilizer on the back and fuse in place.
Deb Heatherly designed this Hexagon Pillow (#CLPDHE039 )to showcase a favorite print or photo transfer. What a cute, easy project – and a great gift.
A friend of Deb’s made this Hogwarts version – I have some grandchildren who would love this version!
Since Cut Loose Press™ patterns are printed on demand, they are always in stock!
ToteOlogy from The Gypsy Quilter is the smart and safe way to carry your favorite rulers and notions! The multiple pockets are designed to hold a wide variety of tools. And, since the pockets are clear, you can find exactly what you need instantly! The inner pocket is large enough to hold an 18 x 24-inch cutting mat as well as other personal items.
Look how easy it is to keep everything in its place!
The other side is the perfect size to hold a cutting mat AND the Creative Grids® Stripology ruler.
The bag will be available next month and comes in purple dot, turquoise, red and black.
Why not display them with the Creative Grids® Stripology series of rulers and mats?
