I was lucky enough to audit the first class for this quilt and the ladies loved it. Every fruit teaches a new technique so it is the perfect class.
In Krista’s words: Fresh Fruit is a fun sampler quilt with each block teaching a new way to use the Large Creative Grids®, 60-degree diamond ruler. There are six different fruit blocks: lemons, limes, oranges, strawberries, watermelons, and grapes. This quilt is so fun to put together and a great way to build skills in piecing each block’s combination of shapes. The Fresh Fruit pattern comes with two layouts: a lap quilt size that includes the striped background blocks and a wall-hanging size made up of the fruit blocks only. This pattern is fully-illustrated, with step-by-step directions, for easy assembly with no Y seams! Lap: 53″ x 56″, Wall Hanging 36″ X 35 1/2″.

I was lucky enough to audit the first class that Krista taught for this pattern after it was hot off the presses. In her words, snowflakes with six sides are the obvious perfect choice for a pattern showcasing her Creative Grids® 60 Degree Diamond Mini Ruler. But the way she cuts the shapes for the snowflakes is pure genius!
Simple and classic, the Snowflake Lane quilt comes in two layouts: lap/twin or wall size. You’ll be pleased how simply these snowflakes go together and surrounded by the pieced buffalo check background, it makes a dynamic statement. In Krista’s words: The Wreath Quilt Sampler (#TQL10023) is a fun, fresh addition to your holiday decor. It’s composed of six different blocks or concepts, each one teaching a new technique using the Creative Grids® 60-Degree Diamond Mini Ruler. The shapes are simple, and the construction is a breeze, building your quilt block by block with no Y seams! Work from your stash or collect a variety of reds and greens and enjoy the process of shade and color placement to get the complete effect. Finished size: 55″ x 55″.
All of the units are created with the Creative Grids® 60 Degree Diamond Mini (#CGR60DIAMINI). The quilt can be made with the Creative Grids® 60 Degree Diamond (#CGR60DIA) as well – but since the pieces are smaller, it is much easier to manipulate the mini!
Krista does such great support for everything and her latest addition is no exception! She has created cutting charts for the diamond rulers. These charts show how many triangles or diamonds can be cut from each width of fabric strip. And while you are there, stay awhile and check out her other videos. You will be glad you did!
Did you know that Krista Moser, the designer of the Creative Grids 60 Degree Diamond (CGR60DIA) and Mini Diamond Tools is also an expert in machine quilting. This pocket guide is available in July and includes everything you need to know about cotton, silk, fusibles – you name it! Since so many customers are finishing projects, now is the perfect time to offer a lecture on how to prep a quilt for machine quilting, how to choose a back and batting, and how to bind the finished project!

Don’t you love the way she uses stripes and buffalo plaids in unexpected ways? She also used some Essex cotton – which has the feel and texture of linen – to add to the tactile vibe. Here is the back as well so you can start getting fabrics together.
I can’t wait to dive into my black and white and gray and honey fabrics……I might even throw in a few polka dots….
