Home Grown by Nancy Halvorsen

What can I say??? Nancy continues to amaze me with every line – and book – she does! In Home Grown, she showcases those values that we all try to achieve in our own lives.

And, in typical Art To Heart style, she has thought of everything! The fabric collection from Benartex – Home Grown by Nancy Halvorsen will be available next month – and comes in ten or 15-yard assortments.

I have showcased her signature teal below just so you can see some detail, but all of the colors are gorgeous. Gray is the new neutral – and she has that covered as well!

I have always loved what she does with tea towels…

With this line, she offers a set of six tea towels which can be used to make the projects above.

OR, buy them by the bolt! These yarn dyes are 43 – 44 inches wide.

Just look at the details on these individual blocks of the cover quilt.

Look what you can do with a panel!!!

Of course, it doesn’t stop there! The embellishments add that awe factor to each block!

These buttons are available for individual blocks are as an entire set. Why not do this as a block of the month? Make a block each month as well as a smaller project that will make great companions to add that Martha Stewart looks to your room. Or, have ideal gifts on hand when needed. Who wouldn’t love that???

Cat Lover’s Delight

I am thrilled to announce that one of my favorite designers created a line of fabric for Timeless! This batik line features Deb Heatherly’s favorite – cats!

This 96-inch square block of the month features two of her highly successful Creative Grids® rulers – the Ultimate Flying Geese and the Cat’s Cradle tool.

The fabric batik line includes her favorite things – cats and catnip! Just look at the colors!

There is also a shop kit available that includes the pattern, fabric and tips to share when teaching the class. Who could ask for anything more???

The fabric and shop kits are due to arrive in January so order it now!

Block of the Month or a Weekend

I love everything this gal does! Krista Moser has so much talent and personality – she is destined to be a rock star in our industry! Just look at what she has created with her new Creative Grids®  60 Degree Diamond Ruler!

This quilt combines the techniques that are featured in many of her patterns and removes the intimidation factor. Each diamond pattern is repeated twice and takes just a few hours.

Why not feature this at your next retreat? Share a technique, give them a few hours to sew….repeat! Better yet – invite Krista to teach at your shop or guild. Contact her at The Quilted Life. Her personality lights up a room. And, she loves to share her knowledge of quilting and longarming. What a combination! The pattern is due to arrive in September so order now!

Have your Oars in a Row

This is the most clever and fun block of the month I have seen in a long time! Each month, create an oar and in six months, your quilt will be done. The finished quilt measures 84″ x 72″ so it could be the focal point of any room or a great throw. Simply add borders if you want it to fit a double or queen bed.

Each design is constructed using traditional piecing techniques and templates – no paper-piecing required. These patterns will be arriving soon so add it to your Fall schedule.

After all, everyone has a place at the lake, knows someone who has a place on the lake, or DREAMS about a vacation on the lake! What a perfect gift for the lake hosts!

Make a pillow for the rocker out of another. The nursery is done! These are not due to arrive until September but you have nine months to plan for a baby  so I wanted you to know these will be available before the due date!

Birthstone Quilts

These gorgeous blocks designed by MJ Kinman showcase the jewels that are the birthstones for each month. Each 17″ block is created with a freezer paper technique which insures success. It is just as easy as paper-piecing without the annoying step of removing the foundation! Decorate your Door with Style

These are designed as door banners but are great anywhere in your house! I love everything that Stacy West of Buttermilk Basin designs – and with this series, she has outdone herself.

I enlarged one of the patterns so that you can see the details that make each hexie banner so charming.

There are twelve in the series – one for each month – but many can stand alone. May, for instance, spells out SEW; June spells out HOME; and August spells FARM. These are perfect stand alone banners that would be great gifts.

These banners measure 9″ x 23 1/2″ and would be great kitted in the Henry Glass wool line by Stacy herself! These have been so popular that they sell out quickly but a new order is due to arrive this week so order NOW!
