Home Grown by Nancy Halvorsen

What can I say??? Nancy continues to amaze me with every line – and book – she does! In Home Grown, she showcases those values that we all try to achieve in our own lives.

And, in typical Art To Heart style, she has thought of everything! The fabric collection from Benartex – Home Grown by Nancy Halvorsen will be available next month – and comes in ten or 15-yard assortments.

I have showcased her signature teal below just so you can see some detail, but all of the colors are gorgeous. Gray is the new neutral – and she has that covered as well!

I have always loved what she does with tea towels…

With this line, she offers a set of six tea towels which can be used to make the projects above.

OR, buy them by the bolt! These yarn dyes are 43 – 44 inches wide.

Just look at the details on these individual blocks of the cover quilt.

Look what you can do with a panel!!!

Of course, it doesn’t stop there! The embellishments add that awe factor to each block!

These buttons are available for individual blocks are as an entire set. Why not do this as a block of the month? Make a block each month as well as a smaller project that will make great companions to add that Martha Stewart looks to your room. Or, have ideal gifts on hand when needed. Who wouldn’t love that???

Cat Lover’s Delight

I am thrilled to announce that one of my favorite designers created a line of fabric for Timeless! This batik line features Deb Heatherly’s favorite – cats!

This 96-inch square block of the month features two of her highly successful Creative Grids® rulers – the Ultimate Flying Geese and the Cat’s Cradle tool.

The fabric batik line includes her favorite things – cats and catnip! Just look at the colors!

There is also a shop kit available that includes the pattern, fabric and tips to share when teaching the class. Who could ask for anything more???

The fabric and shop kits are due to arrive in January so order it now!

Affordable Backings with Spa Cuddle

My daughter just started a long arm business and ordered Spa Cuddle without realizing it was double-sided. The bolt she bought was grey on one side and cream on the other. Since it had nap on both sides, I asked her to try it without batting. Worked like a charm!

These are pics she sent me with the quilt still on the frame…

It comes in a wide variety of colors and is 58 – 60 inches wide so most backings for throws will not have to be pieced! Talk about a win/win and it is cheaper than piecing 44/45 wide fabrics and then buying batting. Who can resist Cuddle???

Check out all of the Shannon Fabrics Cuddle Spa on the website and give it a try!

Graphite and Granite

This new Block of the Month quilt by Whirligig Designs is simply stunning! The instructions include yardage for four sizes from wall hanging to king.

The cover quilt was made with a line from Timeless Treasures called Graphite(sceduled to be released in July).

The pattern is due to arrive in June so order it now so you can plan your block of the month program. This one will have people lining up at your door!

Backings that will Blow your Mind

This was my absolute favorite pick at Market! The folks at Hoffman are so creative but these new digitally printed backings are over the top!

If these allover 104″ wide prints weren’t enough, check these out! With digital printing they don’t have the constraints of a repeat so anything is possible!

And then there is this 108″ version which I love! I am going to be grandma of the year when I do the girls rooms in this. The curtains are a show stopper!

Most of these fabrics are available in 44″ wide as well so it is easy to coordinate the entire room. Remember – with backings, you can’t just order one bolt and satisfy your customers!  Why not do an email blast and take pre-orders?

And when they arrive, display them on a curtain rod so customers can see the entire panel. They literally take your breath away!

New from Wing and a Prayer design

These new patterns and fabric line from Wing and a Prayer design are stunning! And each pattern provides a teachable moment which adds the awe factor to each project.

This simple pillow provides the perfect foundation for a machine quilting class. Quilt the piece and add the snipped strips to create the counterpane.

Diamond in the Rough features folded dimensional fabric strips – a great way to add texture.

Quarry includes instructions in three sizes. Look how the design creates depth with color.

Stacked Stones features raw edge applique that are accented with a trapunto technique.

All of these designs were created with the new Quarry fabric line by Timeless Treasures. This is just a sampling of the line:

Thirties Prints in a Charming Setting

Judie Rothermel’s new collection, Basket of Scraps by Marcus Brothers. is featured in an upcoming book by It’s Sew Emma.

This Block of the Month style quilt book is due to arrive next month – perfect timing to wash away those Winter blues.

The setting stars which frame the blocks are simply stunning. The quilt can be made in two sizes – queen and king – so you can finally make a quilt to fit your bed. And, since it is a block of the month, it can be pieced a little at a time so they have removed the intimidation factor.

Here is just a sampling of this fabric line which is due to arrive later this month:
