Twelve Days of Christmas – Part Two

These organizers by It’s Sew Emma are the perfect gift for everyone – not just quilters! What a great teacher gift. But, if you WANT to give it to a quilter, a lady told me at the show that she uses it to store her machine feet! Now I need another one!

This Pudgie Parrot organizer holds at least seven rulers as well as a rotary cutter. It comes in a multitude of colors so visit the website to pick your favorite!

The Fusamats come in several different sizes and are the perfect gift for those who love fused applique. At Market, they showed the perfect companion – a pair of tweezers with a very fine point. The point is so fine that you can actually use them to place tiny applique pieces and iron them in place!

Stay tuned for Part Three…..

Organization with Style

The Sew Stack is a storage system designed by Noble Industries. Each unit is the same size – 6 1/2″ square but the depth changes depending on the need.

Store 40 bobbins in one container.

Clip it to 16 spools of thread in a deeper container.

Or buy a bobbin container without a lid since the container stacked above it holding the spools of thread has one!

There is even a container for machine feet!

Design your own system with The Sew Stacks. What an efficient use of space!

Spray Bottles Rise to the Occasion

Thanks to a Quilter’s Corner, I no longer have to buy spray bottles based on the nozzle! They have created a spray bottle that can be used for liquid starches – including my favorite, Best Press! This is engineered to provide a more even, continuous spray and coverage every time.

These bottles hold a minimum of 10 ounces and come in a 12 pack display with three different labels – which makes it a perfect gift!

These are selling fast – more will be arriving any day so order now!

Storage at its Best

These new storage containers by Art Bin are designed to fit in their ever-popular Super Satchel containers.

They come in four sizes – Large Short and Large Tall:

And Small Short and Small Tall:

These all have screw tops and are also designed to screw to each other! These will be arriving soon so start planning how many you need. Each size comes in sets of three. Now what to put in them????

Finally – Great Ruler Storage

Annie Unrein to the rescue! We all have been looking for a great way to store – and carry – our rulers. This ruler wrap is perfect!

In your sewing room, it is designed to hang on the back of a door in all of its 72″ glory. There is a multitude of pockets to hold the rulers AND a pocket designed to hold a cutting mat.

It can be folded up to two sizes – one if you are transporting a mat and the other for rulers.

What a great basis for a class! Machine quilt the foundation, learn how to insert zippers, use mesh, bind units, install hardware…okay a series of classes!

I’m All Ears – Bunny Ears

These are just sew darn cute, I had to share! These sweet and simple drawstring bags are perfect for holding small gifts and treats. And, they are made with just two fat eighths of fabric! You probably already have some in your stash!

Rana Heredia of Sewn into the Fabric has created the perfect project just in time for your Easter baskets or hide them in the yard for that Easter Egg hunt. But everyone loves bunnies so the rest of the year, tuck them in backpacks and lunch boxes to add a hug to any day.  These bunnies are like M & M’s – you can’t stop at one!

Notions at Your Fingertips

Organize your nest – your sewing nest that is – with this new product from Pudgie Parrot. This catchall designed by Joan Ford is only four and a half inches square but is capable of containing a lot of your clutter in such a small space.

The stand-up peg area is positioned on the diagonal of the square so it is capable of holding any size rulers, patterns, envelopes etc. The scoop is the perfect place to keep your rotary cutter, glasses, cell phone or larger objects. The spaces in the front are designed to hold scissors, pencils, marking tools, flash drives, etc.

They come in four different colors: flamingo, peacock, hummingbird, and martin.

Who can stop at just one? After all, clutter is everywhere – desk, cutting table, sewing machine, armchair, bedside table…

The Perfect Register Display

The Gypsy Quilter has just released these attractive jars filled with reasonably priced notions just in time for shop hop season. Hosting a retreat? These are perfect little gifts to leave at their stations each morning!

These bobbin clips work with most bobbins and threads. Think of them as hairpins. They are flexible so you can squeeze them to insert through a bobbin and then the spool to keep everything together and in one place!

There is also a rubberized version, available in a 60 unit container or a 12 pack:

The bobbin clamps hold bobbin thread in place and can be stored on a key ring. For those who do applique, a multitude of colors can be stored together in a very small space! Talk about portable???

Peels serve the same purpose but are designed to fit around spools of thread.

All of these items are colorful, fun, useful AND less than a dollar so who is going to buy just one???

The Perfect Ruler Wrap

Annie Unrein creates the perfect bags so when we wanted to develop a storage system for Creative Grids® rulers, she was our first call. The prototype was the hit at Market – and in January you will see why!

In Annie’s words: Store and carry rulers, an 18″ x 24″ mat, rotary cutters, and more in the handy padded organizers. Organizers in two sizes may be hung on the back of a door or folded and wrapped to carry to classes. Straps secure the flap and an adjustable, detachable padded carrying strap make the organizer easy to transport.

Opened, the storage unit can be hung on the back of a door in your sewing room. When going to classes, simply fold it up and take it with you. We filled it with 17 rulers with lots of room to spare!

I love the thought that went into this design! It is 72″ long so it holds a multitude of rulers AND uses a 2 yard cut of Soft and Stable, which is available as a pre-cut. The bag is 27″ wide so it will hold those 24-1/2″ rulers AND one package of 54″ mesh can be cut in half and used for all of the pockets No waste! The bag requires two yards of fabric for the outside and two yards for the lining. Why not teach a machine quilting class so they can learn another technique?

Don’t you love inspired design???

Totes with Style and Structure

I love these two totes by Penny Sturgis!  The Tool Tote has pockets all around the outside AND the inside so it is the perfect class companion.  Grandma who believed – a place for everything and everything in its place – would be proud!  This bag is about 15″ long x 10″ wide x 7″ tall.

The pattern includes the hardware – a heavy duty metal form that keeps the bag open when needed. This frame is also sold separately because who can make just one? After all, it makes a great diaper bag, teacher bag, scrap booking bag….you get the picture!

Or use the same frame to make a Featherweight sewing machine bag.  (But it would hold anything – or any small machine.)

What a great class to add to your featherweight series!
