Elizabeth Hartman Shines

Elizabeth’s booth at Market made everyone smile. Here is a sampling of her new patterns. Spectacular Savanna uses four different Robert Kaufman Kona cottons – Pepper, Snow, Wasabi, and Metal.

Leafy Quilt is stunning and makes me yearn for tropical climes!

Who doesn’t love Lemurs and a whole quilt of them? Even better!

Leafy and Lemur patterns are already in stock. Savanna will be coming soon!

Annie has you Organized

I am Annie’s biggest fan! She has created techniques that make it possible for EVERYONE to achieve stunning results! And, she provides the whole package – everything you need from hardware to vinyl to mesh to stabilizer – to create a one of a kind classic. In this case, I don’t want to miss anything so in Annie’s words….

Out and About: Carry everything you need for a day trip in this handy knapsack.
This compact and feature-rich backpack is sized to work well for adults as well as children. Just adjust the lengths of the shoulder straps (as directed in the pattern) to make it perfect for everyone, from 4-year-olds to 90-year-olds.

You’ll love the way the zippers extend all the way to the bottom of the main and front compartments for full access to each section. The compartments open wide, making it easy to pack and find items. No more digging around inside a pack!

The bag also features lots of zippered and slip pockets to keep small items organized and separated. Cell phone users will love the optional hidden pocket, which is perfect for keeping a phone available for quick access, yet out of sight.

In Control: Control the clutter with this sturdy caddy. Its small footprint makes it perfect for using next to the sewing machine or on a desk. Five outer slip pockets provide easy access to tools and supplies, and a zippered pocket on one end keeps personal items safe and secure.

Expanding dividers on the inside organize a multitude of supplies or collapse flat against the interior of the caddy affording a wide-open interior. Comfy padded fabric handles make carrying easy and attach with rectangle rings allowing them to fall flat along the front or back

A functional and easy to make bag with four styles that feature both zippered mesh and zippered vinyl pockets in a variety of sizes. Use them to organize, store, and carry all sorts of treasures.  Pocket Packers are perfect for organizing personal items and clothing in a suitcase or to carry supplies to class. You’ll think of so many ways to use these handy bags!

Each Pocket Packers bag measures 18.5” H x 13.5” W and each style features a full-sized zippered mesh pocket on the back. On the front are zippered vinyl pockets in a variety of sizes depending on the style that you choose to make. Style 1 has 1 pocket,
Style 2 has 2 same-sized pockets, Style 3 has 3 pockets of varying sizes, and
Style 4 has 4 pockets in a variety of sizes. Any of the pockets can be divided into more than one section.

A reinforced handle attached to the top of each bag can be customized for carrying by hand or over the shoulder. Designed to be made with small amounts of fabric, Pocket Packers are perfect for using the newest fabrics from your favorite designer or a collection of pieces from your stash.

Save precious minutes on your way out the door. This handy 12″” H x 5.5” W organizer fits over the door handle and holds keys, phones, glasses, shopping lists, and more.
A handy strap on back holds letters, envelopes, or newspapers, and an optional elastic strap secures the organizer to the door knob/handle.

The Handle It pattern includes instructions for two options:

• Version 1 features a swivel hook for attaching keys, creating a perfect purse organizer! Keep your Handle It hanging on the door knob when at home to ensure you don’t forget it. Then, when you are ready to go, choose the perfect bag for your day or night on the town and simply slip the Handle It inside.

• Version 2 uses chalkboard fabric on the bottom pocket, making it a great place for quick reminders and daily ego boosts. Tell your family you love them, or remind your spouse to take out the trash.

I love these new patterns for shop owners! They are a perfect way to teach the methods that Annie uses in her projects at a reasonable price!

Perfect for use at home, at work, or on your travels, this easy-to-make organizer makes a great gift, too! The Easy Does It pattern is a perfect way to learn many of the basic techniques used to make ByAnnie patterns! To help local quilt shops, quilt guilds, get-togethers and sew-alongs take advantage of this great pattern, we have made it available in a beautiful printed version. Each package includes 25 individual patterns*, printed in full color on glossy letter stock.

Everyone will love the results and the usefulness of this little project. The handy zippered bag with attached handles will store and carry all their essentials. The bags also make quick, easy, and useful gifts! Be sure everyone gets the free Easy Does It Add-on Video as well. They will love learning our best tips and tricks as we walk them through the pattern online.

Store and carry all your project pieces or supplies in this handy zippered bag with attached handle. Fabric quilted to Soft and Stable makes a sturdy base and the mesh front affords great visibility of contents plus a bit of added stretchiness.
Use one 13” x 18″” rectangle of Soft and Stable and three fat quarters in coordinating prints/colors plus a bit of mesh, interfacing, and a zipper to make this handy 11″”H x 16″”W bag.

All of these patterns will be arriving later this month so place your orders now!

Half Rectangles are the Rage

Sheila Christensen fell in love with the Creative Grids® Perfect Rectangle Ruler (CGTMT3) and the results have been amazing!

Garden Party features half rectangles separated with tiny sashings and corner posts that create a stunning secondary pattern.

Diamond Glow is gorgeous in sophisticated fabrics or would be great as a baby quilt – kites anyone?

Dancing with the Stars is a beautiful quilt or table runner. The perfect rectangles create a secondary design in the sashings.

Eclipse Runner also uses the Creative Grids Triangle Squared (CGRTMT2). This table runner gives the illusion of curves with straight lines.

Sheila will be demonstrating in Demo Alley and in the Creative Grids® booth at Spring Market. Stop by and see her make magic!

Digitized Prints

Nostalgia is the name of the game with these gorgeous digitized prints from David Textiles. Each of these prints measures 36 inches so there are 15 panels per bolt. Add a pieced border to make a great throw in a matter of hours! A picture is worth a thousand words, so in this case, the pictures speak for themselves!

These nature prints are stunning as well. The crisp clean colors make them come to life.

Need some inspiration? Check out the possibilities in these two panel books. The panels and books would make a great display.

These panels are a Checker exclusive so place your orders by June 30, 2019.

Zen Chic Blues

The true test of a designer is someone who has their own sense of style. As soon as you see the quilt, you know who did it without even looking at the name. Brigitte Heitland of Zen Chic is such a designer. And, her designs cross generations.

Case in point – Stitched Denim! This 65 inch square quilt is a perfect throw size and who doesn’t love 50 shades of blue???

London Blues reminds me of the subway tiles that are so popular now. What a dramatic statement – with plenty of room to show off some machine quilting! I can’t wait to see it at Market!

Blue Labyrinth is a stunning take on a half log cabin block. By making the “logs” different widths, it almost gives the illusion of curves.

And then there is Groovin’ – a modern take on the arcs of a traditional wedding ring.

She has also written two booklets – The Basic Series. Each one has a variety of projects that focus on a specific technique. Log Cabin Fun explores her take on this oh so traditional block!

All of these are due to arrive later this month so order them now!

Sassafras Lane Critters

This is one those books that you will pull out again and again. These 32 critters – each with their own personality – are combined in an amazing quilt.

They also give directions for a churn dash pillow so each little guy can stand on his own.

Can’t you see these guys framed as a grouping iin a nursery, the flap of a diaper bag, placemats for a special day? Basically, add a touch of whimsy to any project when you want to add a smile!

These gals love their accessories so they are releasing a pattern for the Natasha Tote as well. This tote is made from lined cork fabric, leather or vinyl so it doesn’t have to be lined and holds everything!

The pattern and book are both expected to arrive later this month. I can’t wait!

Main Stream Modern

Erin Underwood is one of those designers who can create dramatic quilts that appeal to all ages. Basically, they appeal to everyone! And, as a quilt teacher and shop owner, her designs are full of learning opportunities.

Star Studded is a perfect example of a quilt that would be a great block of the month. The stars showcase several different techniques to make a stunning quilt.

Hexology is another design that can be broken down into a block of the month.

Over Under Weaving Wonder is a stunning quilt whether you choose a light or dark background. Plus there is a great space for dramatic quilting.

Continuity can be made with a background accent fabric along with your favorite fabric strips.

These pillows have texture built right in – just fold the strips and let the fun begin. There are two options – couch and bed size!

All of these patterns are due in this month so start planning your classes accordingly!

Diamonds are your Friend

Especially if you are using the Creative Grids® 60 degree Diamond ruler developed by Krista Moser. The three new releases for Spring Market will show why this ruler is a necessity. There are 20 patterns to support it – and that number just keeps growing!

Check out these beauties – one is more stunning than the next! Strike up the band – the parade is coming to town and Summer Bunting is the perfect summer choice! 2-1/2″ strips never looked so good!

Finley and Friends is the perfect quilt for that little fisherman in your life – or any Dory fans. The strip pieced fish and pieced background add texture and interest to a fun quilt.

Both of these quilts will be in stock this month. Entangled Sky is already here – again a strip friendly masterpiece that just requires two different blocks!

There are so many ways to use this ruler – which one to choose first????

Atkinson Designs

The versatility of Terry’s latest patterns says it all! She is so diverse in her talents, whether it is bags, table runners, or sampler quilts, yet as soon as I saw the pics, I knew she designed them.

Letter ZIP! is a perfect example. The name is perfect, the pic draws you in, and the letters make you think of the first or last initial of every friend. After all, we want the cutest letters! And, of course, this is the perfect class to show how to insert those Atkinson zippers the easy way – Terry’s way

Terry’s designs always add that awe factor – just that little something that makes her designs stand out! In Simple Sack, she includes tabs on the sides so the bag will fit on the metal stands at the grocery. And, they collapse for easy storage.

Desert Stars includes two possibilities. Don’t you love the way the stars float into the border???

And then there is her Sampler quilt which includes the cover quilt along with nine projects that expand on the blocks featured in the quilt. The photography is amazing, showing step by step illustrations of many of the techniques explored in the blocks.

I have even heard that this project – which would be a great Block of the Month program for shops – features Creative Grids® rulers! It just gets better and better! Everything is due to arrive in May, just in time for shop hop season!
