New from Hatched and Patched

I love Anni Downs and her quirky style. The combination of embroidery, applique, and simple piecing tick al of the boxes. Isn’t it nice to have some handwork when it gets dark at 5:30?

Where Wildflowers Grow is a fat quarter friendly quilt. You need an assortment of 19 fat quarters, a background fabric and binding. It is 54″ square – a perfect lap quilt or add some easy borders to make it larger. There are 10 applique blocks to create (with a little bit of stitchery), along with simple piecing to make it a truly relaxing quilt to make.

Everyone loves a small project to get that instant feeling of completion. This little pouch is great for a weekend getaway, with a little needle-turn applique, a little stitchery and a little paper-piecing. The front of the pouch has a fun little flowerpot filled with daisies and the word ‘Simplify’ You could always change the word to house someone’s name or something more apt. The back is hand-pieced using simple hexagons. It is completed using a zipper which has been put in totally by hand.

Daisy Do Pouch

Anna needed a new tote, which is often the reason why new projects come into being. This bag is the perfect size, at 12″x16″, big enough to fit papers and patterns, water bottle and everything else I need for my day, without it being too large and cumbersome to carry. This bag has a needle-turn applique image on the front which is finished with a ric rac border. The back of the bag boasts a pocket, and the gussets and base have an interesting pieced finish with ties to gather the gussets a little, and finish it off perfectly.

Signs Of Spring Bag

All three patterns are due to arrive this month, just in time for those cold, snowy nights.
