Brenda’s Half Rect Ruler helps you trim precise half-rectangle triangle units quickly and easily. The finished unit is twice as tall as it is wide, a ratio of 2:1. Create seven different size units from 1.5″ x 2.5″ to 4.5″ x 8.5″ – 1in x 2″ to 4″ x 8″ finished size.

Fabric is first cut into rectangles following the chart provided in the written instructions. The rectangles are then sub-cut into triangles using the markings on the Half Rect Ruler. Once sewn the units are easily trimmed to the exact size desired. The Half Rect Ruler eliminates the need to stress about the challenges of sewing a bias seam. Piecing is a breeze and the units are trimmed to perfection.

Create half-square triangles (HST) in multiple sizes using the same tool. Whichever technique is used in the pattern you choose can be completed with this ruler. Instructions show four different ways to sew HSTs. Method 1 – Create eight half-square triangles out of a set of squares. Method 2 – Cut ready-to-sew sets of triangles from strips. Method 3 – Mark and Sew 1/4 inch seam lines. Method 4 – Trim over-sized HSTs to the correct size. Choose the method that works best for you.

The ruler slides easily over the fabric until pressure is applied. Then, our exclusive gripper holds the fabric in place while cutting, eliminating slipping and miss-cuts! It comes with fully illustrated step-by-step instructions or scan the QR Code printed on the ruler to view a video demonstration.

The patterns are all due to arrive in August so place your orders now.
