National Parks Fabric

Summer vacations are right around the corner and the tourism season begins. Riley Blake has created a line of fabric to commemorate our National parks.

This print comes in black and tan.

The companions are perfect – a print to show the patches; another to show the signs…you get the picture….

There are even individual panels for the most famous parks.

If you are lucky enough to live by one, why not design a quilt around it? You may find your inspiration in the Panel Play book.

This line is not due to arrive, however, until September BUT you can always have them pre-order it! Who doesn’t love getting a memory of a great vacation when life returns to normal?

Honoring Our National Parks

For those of you who are from my generation, you may remember the Golden Eagle card. In the “old days”, you could get a year long pass for just $25 – which meant you could visit any part for a year for free!  Now that pass is available for $80 – still a bargain – and the 59 National Parks are the inspiration behind Donna Marcinkowski De Soto’s new book.

SF5119-8This hardcover coffee table book features 177 original art quilts inspired by scenes in our National parks.  Information about the parks is included as well as interviews with 64 park rangers and other personnel.
