I am Annie’s biggest fan! She has created techniques that make it possible for EVERYONE to achieve stunning results! And, she provides the whole package – everything you need from hardware to vinyl to mesh to stabilizer – to create a one of a kind classic. In this case, I don’t want to miss anything so in Annie’s words….

This compact and feature-rich backpack is sized to work well for adults as well as children. Just adjust the lengths of the shoulder straps (as directed in the pattern) to make it perfect for everyone, from 4-year-olds to 90-year-olds.

You’ll love the way the zippers extend all the way to the bottom of the main and front compartments for full access to each section. The compartments open wide, making it easy to pack and find items. No more digging around inside a pack!

The bag also features lots of zippered and slip pockets to keep small items organized and separated. Cell phone users will love the optional hidden pocket, which is perfect for keeping a phone available for quick access, yet out of sight.

In Control: Control the clutter with this sturdy caddy. Its small footprint makes it perfect for using next to the sewing machine or on a desk. Five outer slip pockets provide easy access to tools and supplies, and a zippered pocket on one end keeps personal items safe and secure.

Expanding dividers on the inside organize a multitude of supplies or collapse flat against the interior of the caddy affording a wide-open interior. Comfy padded fabric handles make carrying easy and attach with rectangle rings allowing them to fall flat along the front or back

Get Organized with Poorhouse Designs

Kristine Poor is one of my favorite designers. She knows how to use all of those specialty interfacings, etc. that tend to intimidate me. But her instructions are so well done that she eliminates the intimidation factor so truly anyone can do it!

Her Scalloped Baskets pattern is made with pre-cut Bosal. The pattern includes instructions to make three different scalloped bins using Bosal’s pre-cut Scalloped Placemats or Scalloped Squares. They are reversible, can be pieced or made from a solid piece of fabric, and can even be quilted!

What a great shower gift – filled with everything the new mother will need, of course! They are due to arrive this month so don’t forget to order the foundations as well.

Vintage Simplicity Gifts

We all remember shopping for Simplicity patterns and loved the tantalizing drawings on the patterns. Now they have taken some of the classic images and have made a line of gift items that are sure to make you smile!

These hard cover notebook retail for less than $10 and would be a great addition to a counter display.

These tins are decorative as well as useful – and are reasonably priced!

All of them are due to arrive the first week of May – just in time for a little something for Mother’s Day.

Twelve Days of Christmas – Part Two

These organizers by It’s Sew Emma are the perfect gift for everyone – not just quilters! What a great teacher gift. But, if you WANT to give it to a quilter, a lady told me at the show that she uses it to store her machine feet! Now I need another one!

This Pudgie Parrot organizer holds at least seven rulers as well as a rotary cutter. It comes in a multitude of colors so visit the website to pick your favorite!

The Fusamats come in several different sizes and are the perfect gift for those who love fused applique. At Market, they showed the perfect companion – a pair of tweezers with a very fine point. The point is so fine that you can actually use them to place tiny applique pieces and iron them in place!

Stay tuned for Part Three…..

Spray Bottles Rise to the Occasion

Thanks to a Quilter’s Corner, I no longer have to buy spray bottles based on the nozzle! They have created a spray bottle that can be used for liquid starches – including my favorite, Best Press! This is engineered to provide a more even, continuous spray and coverage every time.

These bottles hold a minimum of 10 ounces and come in a 12 pack display with three different labels – which makes it a perfect gift!

These are selling fast – more will be arriving any day so order now!

Poppins Bag could hold Mary!

I have seen the actual bag – and couldn’t believe how big it is. It literally will hold a queen size quilt AFTER quilting! It is a great weekender bag, a retreat bag, a beach bag (with enough room for towels, sunscreen, and books for the entire family) or anything you want!

The pattern comes with structural stays so the top pops open – and stays open until you want to close it!

The sides of the bag are stabilized with In-R-Form so it will maintain its shape. It uses a 30″ zipper By Annie which comes in a multitude of colors and has two zipper pulls.

Carol uses a placemat to stabilize the base – which is 12″ x 18″.

Start with quilted fabric or quilt your own – which is another great class. This was quilted in straight lines – a great use for the Creative Grids Slim quilting tool designed by Angela Walters.

I talked to several people who have made the bag and many said that it went together so easy that they were making more! Now that is a testament to a great bag!

Storage at its Best

These new storage containers by Art Bin are designed to fit in their ever-popular Super Satchel containers.

They come in four sizes – Large Short and Large Tall:

And Small Short and Small Tall:

These all have screw tops and are also designed to screw to each other! These will be arriving soon so start planning how many you need. Each size comes in sets of three. Now what to put in them????

I’m All Ears – Bunny Ears

These are just sew darn cute, I had to share! These sweet and simple drawstring bags are perfect for holding small gifts and treats. And, they are made with just two fat eighths of fabric! You probably already have some in your stash!

Rana Heredia of Sewn into the Fabric has created the perfect project just in time for your Easter baskets or hide them in the yard for that Easter Egg hunt. But everyone loves bunnies so the rest of the year, tuck them in backpacks and lunch boxes to add a hug to any day.  These bunnies are like M & M’s – you can’t stop at one!

The Perfect Register Display

The Gypsy Quilter has just released these attractive jars filled with reasonably priced notions just in time for shop hop season. Hosting a retreat? These are perfect little gifts to leave at their stations each morning!

These bobbin clips work with most bobbins and threads. Think of them as hairpins. They are flexible so you can squeeze them to insert through a bobbin and then the spool to keep everything together and in one place!

There is also a rubberized version, available in a 60 unit container or a 12 pack:

The bobbin clamps hold bobbin thread in place and can be stored on a key ring. For those who do applique, a multitude of colors can be stored together in a very small space! Talk about portable???

Peels serve the same purpose but are designed to fit around spools of thread.

All of these items are colorful, fun, useful AND less than a dollar so who is going to buy just one???
