Sixty Degrees with Style

Several new patterns will be arriving soon that feature the Creative Grids® sixty degree triangle.

I love these new patterns by Krista Moser of The Quilted Life. I was not familiar with her work but now will be a follower! She is one of those designers that span all age groups – and that is not easy! All of these patterns look totally different but are all created with the same ruler with an extra one needed for the Champagne and Pearls.

Deck the Halls Part Two

If you are like me, every year you get out the Christmas tree and regret that you didn’t plan ahead and make a new tree skirt.  Here are several of my favorites that can literally be made in an afternoon.  Most come in multiple sizes and can be used as table toppers as well.

Triangle Frenzy showcases wonderful Christmas stripes and is easy to piece since it uses the Creative Grids 12 1/2″ sixty degree ruler.  Happy Holidays also uses a sixty degree ruler and is fast and easy to piece.

Be sure to display the ruler next to the patterns.  It is our best selling triangle!

CGRT12560

Or piece this darling Dresden version created by Erin Underwood – who also created the Creative Grids 15 degree ruler that makes piecing it a breeze. And, it is a quilt as you go technique so you CAN finish it in an afternoon!

EUQ112   CGREU1

This is my go to when I need a quick wedding gift.  What couple won’t be thrilled to find this under their tree!  The whole tree skirt only has 48 pieces!  This one features the Creative Grids 30 degree triangle.

SGD029  CGRSG1

Or get out your strips and piece strip sets that are then cut with the Creative Grids 120 degree ruler.  So this one is a piece of cake!

Why not get started and give these as “Thanksgiving” gifts so they will have them when they are setting up their tree?

Simple Patterns with Learning Opportunities

Cut Loose Press prints affordable patterns that all have one thing in common – they showcase specific notions and products so that you can feature them in demos and classes.  Your customers can then take the tool home and make something with it that they will absolutely love.  For shop owners, these patterns have the additional bonus of being printed on paper that isn’t readable when copied, are printed with the shop contact information on them, are never sold in chains, and since they are printed on demand – are guaranteed to always be in stock!

This revolutionary program is now running like a fine tuned machine!  Think about it – nothing like this program has ever been possible…..until now!  This is a perfect example of using the latest technology to everyone’s advantage – and the response has been amazing!

Many of your favorite designers are submitting patterns every day.  Here is an example of the latest offerings…

Karla Alexander created Against the Rails to feature her Straight Out of Line ruler by Creative Grids.  I love the touches of red that make this simple quilt a show stopper.  To watch Karla demonstrate the ruler, visit our website at:  http://www.checkerdist.com/products/CGRKA3

Kathy Schmitz is a featured artist at Quiltcon in Austin next month.  For this design, Kathy uses a 2 ply – 12 weight Sulky thread to do her embroidery (Item #712-1005).  It is reasonably priced and comes on a spool so it doesn’t have to be wound from skeins.  Aren’t you curious???  Satisfy your curiosity for a suggested retail of $1.69.  Now that’s a no-brainer!

Item #CLPKSC001

This embroidery design showcases the frixion pens.  They are a great way to mark embroidery designs since the markings are removed when pressed!  Since Kathy is known for her blackwork, she uses a black pen so it matches the embroidery thread.

Quilting Circles

Karla Alexander and Swirly Girls Design combined forces to create the Creative Grids Circle Savvy ruler.  This thing is amazing – it cuts circles from 3″ to 15 1/2″ – and every 1/2″ in between.  If you do the math – and I doooo – that is 26 different sizes of circles in one tool!  I was involved in the design process from start to finish – and these gals rock!!

Item #CGRSAV1  Retail $34.45

Not only did they design a great tool, they also created patterns that make this a great class opportunity.

Ring Toss are simply cut circles that are fused and stitched on top of a foundation.  How cute and fun is this creation by the Swirly Girls???

Item #SGD026  Retail $9.00

On the Spot is in one of my favorite color combinations – yellow and black.  If you made one in red and black, it would look like lady bugs…

Sixty Degree Triangles just got Bigger

Sixty degree triangles are one of Creative Grids most popular rulers – and until recently, your creativity was only limited by the size of the ruler.  The original (Item #CGRT60) cuts triangles up to a finished size of 8″ (this is the height of the ruler from the point to the opposite straight side – not the length of the side).

Item #CGRT60  Retail $16.75

A 12″ version of this top seller will be available next month.  Sometimes, bigger IS better!

Item #CGRT12560  Retail $25.95

These triangles can be cut from strip pieced units to create blocks that look very complicated – very quickly.  This example was created by sewing three 1 1/2″ strips and three 2 1/2″ strips together before cutting the 60 degree triangles.  The 9″ finished triangles create a hexagon that measures 18″.  Six triangles can be cut from one set of strips.

Karen Montgomery’s popular table runner pattern can now be enlarged to a finished width of 24″ by simply changing the ruler!

Item #TQC272  Retail $8.50

Instead of piecing strips, let the stripes work for you!  Timeless Treasures has some great stripes that work beautifully with this pattern.  And, since many stripes have four repeats across the width of the fabric, the larger ruler allows you to cut 10 1/2″ triangles so there is no waste!  Why not think ahead and make a table runner as the focal point of your summer parties?

Item #C6950-BLU

This musical print would look great on the top of a piano – runners aren’t just for tables, after all!

Item #CM6818-CRM

Baseball season is right around the corner….Little League, here we come….

Item #C7853-BLU

Or use the stripes in the new South Seas lines that are due out later this year.  With only six pieces, this table runner can be made in a matter of minutes, so you can celebrate all year round.  This house stripe would be a great house-warming gift!

Item #70155-417

Or celebrate the great outdoors…

Item #81536-472

And, yes, you can celebrate the “major” holidays too….If you don’t have to fix Thanksgiving, a gift for the one that does would be oh so thoughtful….

Item #67438-278

And, who doesn’t need an extra gift at Christmas???

Item #67449-372

Re-visit these popular books and patterns as well.  A larger quilt was never easier!

Item #SGD014  Retail $9.00

Item #ANK292  Retail $14.00

Item #ANK293  Retail $10.00

Increase the size of any pattern by up to 30% by simply using the new larger size ruler.  The math has never been easier!
