You know when Terry comes out with a pattern, it will be #1 as soon as it arrives and Step Right Up certainly will!

Step Right Up

The instructions include yardage requirements for three sizes: lap, twin/full, and queen. Use 2 1/2″ pre-cuts or cut your own from fat quarters.

Football season is starting and I can already picture this in school colors. Have a senior? This would make a great autograph quilt for a graduation gift. And, who wouldn’t love it in holiday colors? Any holiday!

Step Right Up

The pattern is due to arrive next month so place your orders now. It would be a great choice for 12 days of Christmas combined with a pack of pre-cuts so plan ahead!

Dance with Atkinson Designs

I love Terry’s designs as much as her descriptions: Less hip movement and more strip movement! Scraps and strips will dance together inside the built-in border. Now THAT is a perfect description for a class!

Cha Cha Cha
Cha Cha Cha

This design can be made with charm squares for a scrappy look. Choose strips or fat eighths for a controlled look as shown on the back cover. Or make two placemats instead of a table runner.

This would be a great beginner class – and is so easy to kit! A charm pack and a yard of fabric will make two! These patterns are due to arrive the middle of April so order them now!

Love is in the Air

There are a multitude of heart projects in the top 100 patterns. It is that time of year….

Jen Kingwell and Andrea Bair’s Boho Heart is a booklet of block patterns that are then combined into an over-sized lap quilt. Add a border to make a double size quilt. The pieced strip border is stunning and adds that awe factor to the quilt.

Boho Heart Booklet

What makes your heart burst with joy? Capture the feeling with the Exploding Heart by Slice of Pi Quilts! This advanced beginner pattern makes a large 72” x 72” throw quilt and is fat quarter and fabric cutter friendly.

Exploding Heart

Shoot the moon with a winning hand of hearts. With 5 fat eighths, make a “pair of hearts” from each print. Three fat quarters will yield “four of a kind” from each print. To make each heart different, deal 10 – 10″ squares to each player. No need to avoid the black queen, we’re playing with just hearts. Let’s Play Hearts by Atkinson Designs.

Let's Play Hearts

Have a Heart by J. Michelle Watts is created with 1-1/2 inch strips for a small quilt, 2-1/2″ strips for a generous throw. Choose one pack of strips for the heart, two for the background, and you are ready to sew!

Lucky Stars

Once again, it is made up of fat quarters and background fabric and the instructions come in five sizes! You probably have a wide selection of fat quarters cut already so you can make up kits in no time. Put up several different colorways – and when they are gone, they are gone!

Think Gifts

We are all in this together and are probably experiencing the same issues. The only full load of laundry I have run since this started was a load of jammies! And the facial recognition on my phone didn’t recognize me this morning. Times are tough so what is a gal to do?

Crisscross Apron

I’m reverting back to my grandmother’s time and making aprons for my friends. Let’s face it – we are spending a lot more time in the kitchen and with everyone home, cleaning has become a daily chore so the pockets are great. An added bonus? No one can tell if you are wearing a bra!

It takes just two yards of fabric – one for each side – and it is fully reversible.

Or, make this apron from Terry Atkinson. It comes in three sizes – from toddler to adult. Haven’t you always wanted to make matching aprons for that Christmas cookie party? Well now is the time! This one has big pockets as well – perfect for picking up all of the stuff that is laying around!

The points are floating so they will be perfect every time! The finished size is 15.5″ x 38″ – which means the backing can be cut from the width of fabric. Or, since you won’t be able to make just one, two can be backed with just 1 1/4 yards of fabric.
