My Favorite Clover Products
Jul 5th, 2010 by Penny Haren
Carol Porter is coming to our Open House in August – which gives me the opportunity to share some of my favorite Clover notions. The new products that came out at Market will be sharing center stage such as the new Nancy Zieman purse template – the California Bag, and the new wooden handled notions. Â I will review those later – but didn’t want my favorite classics to be overlooked. Â These notions would be a great demo day – on any day. Â These are classics that every quilter needs – in multiples. Â We all know if it is good, you need one in your sewing room, one in your sewing basket, and one in your travel bag! Â These are really that good!
Clover simply makes the best seam ripper. Â The tip is fine so it easily fits between sewn stitches and the molded handle is smooth and fits right in the palm of your hand. Â When you have to tear out, it ALMOST makes the job enjoyable!
Item #482CV-WHT Â Retail $4.00
Their pin cushion is genius! Â When you invent a better mouse trap, the quilting world should take notice – and this is the best! Â There are magnets built into the base so that the pins automatically point in the same direction. Â Then, they added a groove down the center so you will never poke yourself again. Â It even has a lid for storage. Â This is simply brilliant!
Item #4101CV Â Retail $15.95
I love flower head pins – and these are the best. Â I write numbers on the “flower” with a Sharpie to help organize my projects. Â Keeping track of blocks one through twelve – or individual pieces of a block has never been easier! Â A friend stores them in a piece of florist foam next to her sewing machine. Â The numbers are always in order – and visible.
Item #2506CV Â Retail $12.00
Clover Bias Tape Makers come in a variety of widths – 1/4″; 3/8″; 1/2″; 3/4″ and 1″ – and I have them all. Â You can make yards of bias tape in a matter of minutes. Â I use the 3/8″ size for stems and vines for my appliques. Â That is my go to size – but I have them all!
Item #4015CV Â Retail $8.25
I love pearl cotton – and have it in every color imaginable. Â If you love to embroider, this is a must.
Item #8611CV Â Retail $9.95
But, for all of your handwork, you need the best needle threader available. Â I have these EVERYWHERE – by my sewing machine, in my sewing machine case, by my favorite chair, in my sewing basket – you get the picture. Â Since the threading mechanism is encased in plastic, they don’t break. Â I still have my original!
Item #4073CV Â Retail $14.95
Chacoliner pencils are my favorite way of marking the line when I am making half-square triangles. Â They come in a variety of colors so they show up on any color of fabric and are sculpted to fit the shape of your hand. Â You need one in every color!
Retail #4710CV Â Retail $ 9.25
I have never learned to use a metal thimble so I was thrilled when Clover introduced this leather one that is engineered to fit the contours of my finger. It is available in three sizes.
Item #6029CV Retail $13.95
This needle case stores ten threaded needles without tangling the threads. Â This is a must when traveling – no more trying to thread needles in a moving car!
If they were not a quilter when these products were introduced, your customers may not know about them. Â Share a classic today!

Thanks for the great post. I am really impressed with the quality and value Clover Needlecraft continues to offer.
