Needle Felting by Hand or Machine is truly an educational resource. These ladies cover everything from the “tools of the trade” to the fibers you should use. And, it is the first book I’ve seen that explains the difference between wet felting and dry felting – and has projects for both.

Linda and Pauline compare eight different brands and the pros and cons of each. Two companies offer conversion packages for existing sewing machines, and they cover that too. They also include a wonderful resource guide that includes websites to obtain additional information. They have thought of everything.Many of the projects are quick, easy gifts that aren’t the least bit intimidating – thanks to the detailed photography. But, they have also included artwork from some of the top women in the field. The pieces by Pat Spark are stunning – and show the potential that this technique has to offer.
But, do yourself a favor and don’t just skip to the projects – take the time to savor this book! You’ll be glad you did!
